Man City prepare double move for Cavani and Falcao
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini could make a double move to bolster his side’s strike force by bringing Napoli striker Edinson Cavani and Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao to the Etihad Stadium, the Daily Mirror has reported.
The Premier League champions would move on a quartet of players currently at the club to make way for the two new faces, with the Mirror suggesting Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Roque Santa Cruz and Emmanuel Adebayor would all be made available. The newspaper adds that the foursome would be sold not only to create space in the squad for Cavani and Falcao, but to help City comply with UEFA’s new Financial Fair Play rules.
It could take a total transfer fee of £80m to sign both Cavani and Falcao - £40m each - with the wages of the pair adding to City’s FFP concerns, hence the need for a clear out if the deals are to go ahead.
