Chelsea’s Portugal international midfielder Raul Meireles is a target for Serie A side Napoli, the Daily Mail has reported. The newspaper adds that Meireles first attracted Napoli’s attention when Chelsea defeated Walter Mazzari’s side in last season’s Champions League.

Having recently agreed to sell striker Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain Napoli have some funds to play with and are said to have targeted midfield as an area in which to improve. After first being impressed by Meireles in the Champions League the Mail adds the player’s displays for his country during Euro 2012 have re-enforced Napoli’s admiration.

Meireles has only been at Chelsea for a year, having made the move from Liverpool - again after only 12 months - on transfer deadline day in August 2011. A fee of £8m has been mooted for the 29-year-old who has reportedly declined to discuss his club future until Portugal’s involvement in Euro 2012 is over. Spain are their next opponents in a Euro 2012 semi-final Iberian derby.

I think chelsea is a big team but next season we will face some good clubs who are determined to win trophys unlike chelsea who does a minor signing i.e eden hazard then speculate fake rumours, then comes next season starts to play the damn boring game of over defending, instead of doing major signing like other big clubs.
