Fulham target Spurs outcast Bentley

Fulham are willing to give David Bentley a chance to revive is floundering career after a number of years in the shadows at Tottenham and a season of injuries at West Ham.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Martin Jol is lining up a bid for the right sided player either on a loan deal or for a small fee.

After finding his first team opportunities limited, Bentley found himself a loan deal at West Ham in the Championship after a short spell in the same season at Birmingham. But he suffered a serious knee injury whilst there which destroyed his hopes of reigniting his career.

Once dubbed the new David Beckham, Bentley has only played 60 league games in four years, scoring on 3 occasions. The most prolific time of his career was the three seasons he spent at Blackburn – signing for them from Arsenal in 2005 – where he played 132 games in all competitions, scoring 20 goals.

If he were to join Fulham it would be the fourth London based club he has played for in his career.
