Lampard could make Chelsea after LA Galaxy approach

Sunday 01 July 2012

LA Galaxy are preparing an offer to lure Chelsea legend Frank Lampard to the United States.

According to the Daily Mail, the MLS side are confident they can table an offer worthy of Lampard’s attention and hope they can attract him to play alongside fellow Englishman David Beckham.

Lampard has one year left on his deal, worth £130,000 per week, and is set to get a substantial loyalty bonus should he complete that year. But Galaxy are ready to swoop for the England international who missed out on Euro 2012 due to a injury he picked up in training just before the tournament kicked off.

A move away from Chelsea has consistently been reported but ever year they are refuted. It seems unlikely that the Blue’s vice-captain would seek employment elsewhere but that doesn’t seem to be deterring the California based club.

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge Lampard has had a hall of fame career, winning 3 league titles, 4 F.A. Cups, 2 League Cups and last year winning the Champions League for the first time. As well as these club achievements, Lampard has played 558 times for the West London side and scored an impressive 186 goals – making him the 3rd all time top scorer at Chelsea – earning him in the silver award in the 2005 Ballon D’or and 2005 Fifa World Player of the Year, the last Englishman to do so.
