Villas-Boas wants Oscar and Lloris at Tottenham

Thursday 05 July 2012

New Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas wants to add to the arrival of Iceland midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson by bringing in France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Brazilian midfielder Oscar, the Daily Mail has reported.

The purchase of Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim was wrapped up on Wednesday in an £8m deal from under the noses of both Swansea City and Liverpool, and now Villas-Boas is keen to draft in new faces in other positions as he seeks to overhaul the Spurs squad.

The Mail reports that Tottenham have already made an £11m offer for Oscar, the 20-year-old Internacional midfielder, but his club are said to value the player at nearly double that amount. The newspaper adds that Oscar is viewed as a replacement for Luka Modric, while Porto’s Joao Moutinho could also fill the gap if Modric moves on.

Meanwhile a new goalkeeper is thought to be a priority for Villas-Boas and the £16m price tag on Lloris’ head is unlikely to deter the new Tottenham boss. The Mail adds that Lloris has long been a target of Spurs, well before Villas-Boas arrived at White Hart Lane.
