Thursday 26 July 2012

Chelsea have made their third signing of the summer as the transfer to take Brazil international midfielder Oscar to Stamford Bridge has been completed, the London Evening Standard has reported.

The Champions League winners will reportedly pay Internacional £25m for the 20-year-old, who is due to take part in Brazil’s Olympic football gold medal attempt at London 2012. As well as forming part of Brazil’s U-23 squad, however, Oscar also has six full international caps to his name and has represented his country at every youth level.

Oscar began his career at Sao Paulo, moving to Internacional in December 2010. There Oscar made 70 appearances, scored 19 goals and won the state championship in both 2011 and 2012 and the Recopa Sudamericana - the South American version of the European Super Cup - in 2011.

At international level, Oscar has tasted success in the 2011 South American Youth championship and the same year was part of the successful Brazil side at the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
