Arsenal striker Bendtner linked with La Liga move

Thursday 26 July 2012

La Liga side Celta Vigo could be set to give Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner a way out of the club after the Denmark international fell out of favour under Arsene Wenger, the Daily Mail has reported.

Celta are preparing for life back in the top flight of Spanish football and, under former Liverpool assistant manager Paco Herrera, are thought to have identified Bendtner as an option to bolster their attack.

Bendtner is said to be valued by Arsenal at around £7.5m and Turkish side Galatasaray have also shown an interest in the 24-year-old, with Milan also said to be monitoring the situation. Bendtner spent last season on loan with Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Sunderland.

Wenger is said to be keen to move Bendtner on in order to free up space in the squad - as well as in the wage bill - for further new recruits. This summer the Gunners have already brought in two new strikers - Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud - pushing Bendtner further down the pecking order.
