Pienaar on verge of Everton return

Bookmark and Share

By Mike Carre

Sunday 29 July 2012

Everton are close to completing the signing of former winger Steven Pienaar, according to the Guardian.

The South African left the Toffees for White Hart Lane just 18 months ago, and now looks certain to make the return move after the clubs agreed a fee.

Indeed, Pienaar was on-loan at Goodison Park for the second half of last season, and recaptured the fantastic form of his previous spell on Merseyside, almost leaving David Moyes with no choice but to snap up the fans’ favourite on a permanent basis.

Pienaar will rekindle his blossoming partnership with Leighton Baines on Everton’s left-flank, the side’s most potent source of goals and creativity.
