Boss Owen Coyle brought Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to the Reebok on a similar loan deal in 2010, and the England international credits Bolton with kick-starting his career in the Premier League and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hopes Afobe will be as successful as Wilshere was.

Afobe has been featuring for Arsenal on their Pre-Season tour of Asia, however Arsenal are keen to allow the player to develop with another club outside of the Premier League, and the move will be sealed later this week.

Bolton Wanderers also said to be interested in Afobe’s team-mate Ryo Miyaichi, who enjoyed a brief loan spell with Owen Coyle’s side last season.
