Man Utd close to double deal for van Persie and Moura

Manchester United are on the verge of wrapping up deals for Lucas Moura and Robin van Persie after weeks of talks and speculation.

According to the Independent, the transfer could be worth a fee in the region of £30m and is hoped to be completed by the end of the week after last season’s Premier League runners-up fended off interest from the likes of PSG and Inter.

Fuel was added to this transfer saga when Sir Alex Ferguson missed United’s first game of their Scandinavia tour in which the side drew 0-0 with Norwegian side Valerenga - many claiming that the manager was away finalising the deal for the Brazilian attacker.

Lucas is currently in London with the Brazil Olympic squad who are preparing for their semi-final game against South Korea this week. His current club Sao Paulo had hoped to keep hold of him but were always adamant that should the right price come in they would let the 19-year-old leave.

In what looks to be the end of Manchester United’s spending this summer, van Persie could also expected to arrive at Old Trafford before the start of the new season for around £20m.
