Chelsea are looking to wrap up a deal for Edinson Cavani after reports from Italian news group Mediaset that Napoli owner Aurelio de Laurentiis is willing to let their star striker go.

According to the Evening Standard the two clubs have already agreed a fee in the region of £35 million for the Uruguayan and the Blues are now in talks with the player who is looking for £150,000-per-week wages.

Cavani has become hot property in the past two seasons after scoring 66 goals in 94 games for Napoli. Debuting for his country 2008, the 25-year-old has earned 40 caps and has scored 11 goals.

The European Champions are said to be keen on replacing Didier Drogba after he chose to leave the club following his Champions League final heroics. Romelu Lukaku left the club on a loan deal to West Brom on Friday evening freeing up a striker slot in Roberto Di Matteo’s squad.
