Fulham forward Clint Dempsey has his heart set on a move to Liverpool and is waiting for the Reds to make an offer to the Cottagers now they have completed the signing of Joe Allen, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Dempsey is said to have fallen out with Fulham manager Martin Jol over the summer after the United States international declined to sign a new contract - his current deal expires next year - and was left out of the club’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland. Dempsey is also expected to sit out Fulham’s first game of the new Premier League campaign at home to Norwich City on Saturday.

The 29-year-old bagged 23 goals last season and has a total of 60 in more than 200 Fulham appearances to his name. The Texas-born player has been at Fulham since 2006, moving to Craven Cottage from MLS side New England Revolution. Dempsey also has 86 international caps and 27 international goals to his credit.
