Mirallas leans towards Everton over Arsenal
Kevin Mirallas is ready to join the Premier League and could choose to move to Everton rather than Champions League contenders Arsenal. Sky Sports have reported the Olympiakos player as admitting the move to Merseyside would probably suit him more, suggesting that it is likely to be his final destination.
Mirallas said: “It is possible to go to Everton, it is possible to go to Arsenal, I don’t know now. I will speak with my manager and make a good decision for me and also speak to my family importantly. They are two big clubs of the Premier League, but for me it is more important to play every week. It is better for me a little bit at Everton.”
The 24-year-old striker signed for current club Olympiakos in 2010 from Saint-Etienne and has turned heads after scoring 34 goals in 52 games in the Greek Super League.
He still is unsure on his decision but admits Everton are currently the club on his mind. He added: “They [Everton] are a good team and it is a good opportunity because Marouane Fellaini plays at Everton who is my friend, but I don’t know."
Mirallas and Fellaini play together in the Belgian national team. The centre-forward debuted in 2007 for his country’s national side and has made 27 appearances so far as well as netting on five occasions.
First team opportunities, which seem to be at the front of Mirallas’ thoughts, may become more available at Arsenal given the imminent departure of Robin van Persie after the Gunners accepted a £24m bid from Manchester United for their star striker.
The Belgian striker finished by saying: “Tomorrow I go to Greece, next week I go to the Premier League or go to Superleague Greece,” Leaving a move to either side as open as it was before.
