Zenit St Petersburg want Man Utd winger Nani

Saturday 18 August 2012

Zenit St Petersburg are keen to sign Manchester United winger Luis Nani, the Daily Mail has reported, after the club’s Coach, Luciano Spalletti, confirmed his side’s interest in a number of players.

The Mail suggests that Nani will face a fight to retain his place in the United side this season after the arrivals of Shinji Kagawa and Robin van Persie, while earlier this summer the Daily Mirror claimed that the Portugal international’s future at Old Trafford was in doubt after a break down in contract negotiations.

The 25-year-old has been a Manchester United player since 2007, moving to the Premier League from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon. In his five years at the club Nani has made 194 appearances, scoring 36 goals. Last season the midfielder featured in 40 games for his club and scored 10 times, as well as appearing in all five of Portugal’s games at Euro 2012.
