Sunderland keen on loan deal for Tottenham pair Jenas and Rose
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill is interested in taking on loan two Tottenham Hotspur players, midfielder Jermaine Jenas and wide man Danny Rose.
Jenas spent last season on loan at Aston Villa but injury curtailed any hope the former England international had of making an impression in the Midlands. Jenas suffered an ankle injury in November that kept him out for the rest of the season.
The Telegraph claims that O’Neill believes Jenas, formerly of Sunderland’s fierce rivals Newcastle United, can return to his previous athletic style despite his injury problems as he is only 29-years-old.
Rose is a left winger or left-back and is expected to replace Kieran Richardson, who the newspaper claims is angling for a move away from the Stadium of Light. London pair West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers are said to be interested in the former Manchester United player.
