Aston Villa and Everton target Wolves striker Doyle

Monday 27 August 2012

Kevin Doyle is set to be the next Wolves player targeted by a Premier League club following the departure of Steven Fletcher and Matt Jarvis. According to the Daily Mail, both Everton and Aston Villa are keen on signing the Irish striker and are considering offers this week, with deadline day just a few days away.

So far in the transfer window Wolves have managed to get just shy of £25m for the two first teamers that they have lost, with speculation strong that a big fee will be demanded for Doyle.

The 28-year-old signed for Wolves in 2009 following a four-year stint at Reading. In his time with the Midlands side he has played 107 games in total, scoring 21 times. Although not prolific, he is well known for his strong link up play and contributing to his fellow front men’s goal tally.

So far this season he has featured in both of Wolves’ fixtures in the Championship following their relegation from the Premier League last year. The side have only won one of their three games and are still trying to fend off interest for their stars.
