Juventus interested in Arsenal striker Bendtner

Tuesday 28 August 2012

Juventus could be set to make a £5m offer for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, according to the Daily Mail. The Denmark international, who spent last season on loan at the Gunners fellow Premier League side Sunderland, is free to leave the Emirates Stadium after falling out of Arsene Wenger’s plans.

A number of clubs have already been linked with a move for the 24-year-old, including La Liga side Celta Vigo, Turkish giants Galatasaray and Juventus’ Serie A rivals Milan. Juventus are known to be in the market for a striker but are evaluating other options after facing obstacles in their pursuit of Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente and Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.

Bendtner moved to Arsenal as a 16-year-old in the summer of 2004, spending a year on loan at Birmingham City before eventually breaking into the Arsenal first team. He has made 153 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 45 times, as well as playing 48 games for Birmingham, scoring 13 goals, and 31 for Sunderland, where he netted on eight occasions.
