Fulham accept Tottenham bid for Dembele

Wednesday 29 August 2012

Tottenham Hotspur have had a bid for Belgium international midfielder Moussa Dembele accept by Fulham, the BBC has reported, but it could be a case of one out and one in at Craven Cottage as Sunderland confirm Fulham have made an offer for Kieran Richardson, which has been accepted.

Fulham manager Martin Jol revealed that Dembele was to have a medical at Spurs ahead of a move before the end of the transfer window, which closes on Friday night. Dembele was left out of the Fulham side that lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup on Tuesday evening.

Tottenham moved for Dembele days after selling Luka Modric to Real Madrid for a fee in the region of £30m. If the transfer goes ahead the 25-year-old would be Spurs’ fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of defender Jan Vertonghen, midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has made his loan spell of last season permanent after leaving Manchester City.
