Fletcher fit for Man Utd return

Friday 31 August 2012

Darren Fletcher will be fit enough to return to the Manchester United team and is expected to be included in the Champions League squad which must be submitted next Monday.

Reported by the Daily Mail, the midfielder looks set to make his return having not played for the first team since last November after he was given extended leave to overcome ulcerative colitis.

Fletcher has managed 30 minutes in a friendly against Aberdeen earlier this month and has since played two 90-minute games for the under-21 team in the new league system set up for this season.

The 28-year-old midfielder’s inclusion is bad news for the likes of Bebe and Federico Macheda. Given that there are only a certain number of spaces available these two players, amongst others, may miss out on this year’s Champions League squad.

Manchester United kick off their campaign on the 19th September at home to Galatasaray.
