Falcao linked to January move to Chelsea or Man City

Monday 03 September 2012

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao could be headed for the Premier League come January after the player’s father revealed that his son has had offers from both Chelsea and Manchester City and has always wanted to play in England, ESPN has reported.

Radamel senior added that his son grew up admiring the Premier League and especially Chelsea, and would find it a great honour to play in the top flight of English football. But, the elder man added, there is no pre-contract agreement with any club, after the Colombian press reported Falcao was already destined to move to Stamford Bridge.

Falcao showed Chelsea what they would be getting, however, by hitting a first-half hat-trick against the Champions League winners in Atleti’s 4-0 European Super Cup triumph on Friday.

But ESPN adds Falcao, who was linked with a move to Chelsea late in the transfer window, did not come close to the transfer as Chelsea only considered a bid for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
