Villas-Boas to loan out Tottenham goalkeepers Gomes and Cudicini
Tottenham Hotspur Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas will let Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini leave White Hart Lane on loan after the signing of Hugo Lloris and the good form of Brad Friedel, the Daily Mirror has reported.
The Mirror adds that following the arrival of France international Lloris, former Chelsea custodian Cudicini is now the club’s third-choice goalkeeper, ahead of the Brazilian Gomes. But both will be free to join clubs in the Championship when the window for loan deals re-opens for the Football League.
Gomes moved to Tottenham in 2008, having spent the prior four years in Holland with PSV Eindhoven. The 31-year-old has played almost 100 games for Spurs and has 11 international caps to his name.
Cudicini moved to English football in 2000, leaving Italian lower league side Castel di Sangro for Chelsea. Cudicini eventually became the first choice at Stamford Bridge and played almost 150 games for the club until the arrival of Petr Cech precluded his relegation to reserve for the Czech Republic international. Cudicini joined Tottenham in 2009.
