Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak has revealed how much he loves the Premier League and hailed the top-flight in England as ‘paradise’, Goal.com reports.

The Russian international got his first taste of Premier League football on-loan at Fulham last season and impressed at Craven Cottage, scoring six goals in 12 games. Now, Pogrebnyak has moved to Reading and already has one goal to his name for the Royals. The 28 year old admits that he has been a long-term admirer of the English game and would have liked to play in the Premier League earlier in his career, but he is delighted to be part of the top-flight now.

Pogrebnyak said: “My dream has always been to play in the Premier League. At the end of the 90’s, I liked watching English football very much so I wanted to sign for a club in England, but I didn’t think it would happen so late. But, now I’m here and I’m happy about it.”

After a positive start to his Premier League career, the Russian striker is looking to remain in England for the foreseeable future and help Reading survive this season. Pogrebnyak also commented on the German game and criticised the training methods he experienced at Stuttgart.
