Juventus planning Premier League raid for Walcott and Nani

Juventus, the champions of Serie A, will do most of their January shopping in the Premier League, the Daily Mirror has reported. The Turin side will attempt to sign a pair of wingers - Manchester United’s Luis Nani and Theo Walcott, Arsenal’s England international.

The Mirror adds that Juventus believe they could sign both players at knock-down prices. Walcott will be free to talk to clubs outside England if he has not agreed a new Arsenal contract by January - and rather than wait until the summer Juve will test Arsenal’s resolve with a £5m bid when the transfer window opens.

Walcott is said to have rejected one new contract at Arsenal already, with terms in the region of £75,000 per week over the next five years.

Nani, on the other hand, has 12 months longer to run on his contract with United and is keen to sign a new one, but the sides are at stalemate. A move to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg fell through during the summer transfer window but with the Portugal international not in Sir Alex Ferguson’s first team thoughts, he could be on the move at the next possible opportunity.
