Chelsea pair Terry and Cole to be fit to face QPR

John Terry and Ashley Cole are both expected to be fit to line up for Chelsea against Queens Park Rangers when the sides meet in the Premier League this weekend, Yahoo Sports has reported.

The fixture is expected to be a controversial one as the R’s XI is likely to contain Anton Ferdinand, the player Terry was accused and later cleared of racially abusing. Cole was a witness for Terry’s defence during the trial. Terry still faces a Football Association charge over the incident, which Terry denies. Chelsea and QPR have not played each other since Terry was cleared of the charges against him. They related to the match between the sides in October 2011.

Cole missed both of England’s matches over the international weekend while Terry played in Moldova but suffered an injury that kept him out of the following match at Wembley against Ukraine. The pair both trained on Thursday. Ferdinand, meanwhile, had been bothered by a shoulder injury but is said to be making good progress.

It is not yet known whether the players involved will observe the pre-match handshake. Both Chelsea and QPR released messages on their website reminding supporters to stay within the boundaries of acceptable behaviour.
