Abramovich demands answers after Chelsea's draw with Juventus

Friday 21 September 2012

Roman Abramovich visited Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Thursday to seek his own inquest into the team’s opening Champions League draw with Juventus, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues, who were beginning their attempt to become the first team to ever retain the European Cup in the Champions League era, had a comfortable 2-0 lead before individual errors gifted the Italian champions a point from their opening Group E clash.

Abramovich is said to have met with players and the coaching staff as well as manager Roberto Di Matteo as he sought an explanation for his side’s failure to hold onto the lead.

Chelsea’s next match in their quest to defend their Champions League crown comes away to Denmark’s FC Nordsjaelland, who were defeated 2-0 by Shakhtar Donetsk in mid-week to place them bottom of the group.

Premier League leaders Chelsea will be looking to extend their stay at the top with a victory at home to Stoke City on Saturday.
