Everton will be glad to return to Premier League action after being knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Leeds United midweek.

David Moyes had made six changes to the team that won at Swansea last weekend, but his plan backfired as The Toffees were unable to progress in the competition. Key players Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar and Tim Howard are expected to return to the Everton starting eleven for the visit of Southampton.

Everton fans will be hoping Marouane Fellaini will continue his impressive start to the season. The Belgium international has been one of the early stars in this seasons campaign and his three headed goals have made him a danger in the air.

The Saints go into the game on the back of a comfortable win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup and will be looking for their third successive victory in all competitions.

Nigel Adkins is expected to recall the likes of Adam Lallana and Gaston Ramirez who were rested midweek. The inform Rickie Lambert, who is a Liverpool fan, is also expected to be recalled. After his impressive midweek display Jay Rodriguez could also be included in the squad making its way up to Merseyside. However The Saints will be unable to call on Jack Cork, who has been side-lined for six weeks due to a knee injury.
