Wenger hails Cazorla’s ambidextrous qualities

After another sparkling performance from summer signing Santi Cazorla at the weekend, Arsene Wenger was understandably delighted with the form shown by the Spain international since his arrival in England.

Santi Cazorla

Cazorla has been at the heart of much that has been good about Arsenal so far this season and according to the the Daily Star, manager Wenger has compared Cazorla’s ability to play with either foot to ex-Tottenham creative focal point Glenn Hoddle.

“Cazorla is right-footed, but when you watch him play you don't know,” remarked Wenger. "Hoddle was like that - left-footed, right-footed, you could not say what he was. I don't remember anyone else I have worked with who was so two-footed."

Cazorla helped secure the three points for the Gunners at Upton Park with a wonderful long-range effort with his supposedly weaker foot to make the score 3-1, after earlier goals from Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott had put Arsenal on the way to victory following Mohamed Diame’s opening strike for West Ham.

The Gunners seventh in the table on 12 points winning three and drawing three of their opening seven matches, with the only loss coming at home to league leaders Chelsea.
