Tottenham news - Unlucky number 13 for Gallas, Boro monitor Cudicini, Toshack reveals Bale bid
Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

Unlucky number 13 for Gallas.
It has been confirmed by the Daily Mail that William Gallas will wear the number 13 shirt this season. Gallas wore the unlucky number at Chelsea before he was stripped of the shirt by Jose Mourinho, after he failed to attend a pre-season training camp in Los Angeles. Tottenham’s other summer signings have also been given their new numbers - Rafael Van der Vaart will wear 11, Brazilian midfielder Sandro, 30, and goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa don the number 37 jersey while on loan from Spartak Moscow.
Boro monitor Cudicini.
Championship side Middlesbrough are believed to be keeping tabs of Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, according to talkSPORT. Boro manager Gordon Strachan is reportedly keeping a close eye on the Spurs shot-stopper, after the arrival of Stipe Pletikosa could jeopardise his second choice status at White Hart Lane. With the arrival of the Pletikosa, Cudicini could be pushed further down the pecking order and be forced to leave Spurs to play regular football elsewhere.
Toshack reveals Bale bid.
Wales manager John Toshack has revealed Gareth Bale was the subject of a big money bid this summer, after an eye-catching season with Spurs. Toshack failed to confirm which clubs came looking but established a lot of money was used in order to entice the 21-year-old. He told Skysports: “It was a big-money bid - it's big money to me anyway.” Bale signed a new contract back in May that keeps him at White hart Lane for another four years.
