Man Utd news - Benzema to Utd, Giggs to turn down Wales offer, Bebe delight

By Daniel Tyler

Wednesday 08 September 2010

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Man Utd. Today:

Bebe delight at Champs inclusion.

Manchester United’s Bebe has spoken of his surprise inclusion in the Red Devil’s 25 man UEFA Champions League squad. A Different League initially reported on Monday that the striker had been left out of the party due to a doubt over the 20 year-olds ability. However initial reports proved incorrect and the £7.4m summer signing was in fact selected and is eligible to face Rangers at Old Trafford next Tuesday. The hitman told Sky Sports: “I'm surprised by my inclusion in the Champions League squad,” he said. “It's a dream for me. I never thought I would have made it, but now I am a very happy man.”

Giggs to turn down Wales offer.

Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs is unlikely to take the Wales managers job, for the time being, according to the ,I>Telegraph. A Different League reported on Monday that John Toshack was set to step down as Wales head coach after defeat to Montenegro in the opening EURO 2012 qualifier. Toshack also recommended that Welsh wizard Giggs should be the man to take over. The 36 year-old has expressed his desire to manage his country in the past but said “At the moment it is difficult, because I still have commitments as a player.”

Benzema to Utd.

Manchester United are again weighing up a move for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long term admirer of the 22 year-old, narrowly missing out to Real Madrid on the player last summer. The former Lyon man has had a torrid time at the Bernebau and new head coach Jose Mourinho recently criticised the Frenchman’s attitude. United now look ready to pounce in January but face competition from rivals Liverpool.

I hope Fergie gives Macheda, Welbeck and Diouf a chance rather than bring Benzema to United!
