Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Tottenham. Today:

Defoe out for 6 weeks.
According to The Telegraph, Jemain Defoe will join Michael Dawson on the bench for up to six weeks after scans revealed ligament damage to his ankle. Defoe fully expected to be fit for Tottenham’s match against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, yet after learning the full extent of the injury, the Spurs striker will miss the start of Tottenham’s Champions League campaign. This is a huge blow for Harry Redknapp who has already lost Dawson for the next two months with ligament damage.
Rossi rules out Prem.
Guiseppe Rossi has warned Tottenham and Liverpool he has no intention of playing in England and is ready to return to Italy. Harry Redknapp had considered the striker in the summer but an offer was not put together before the transfer window closed. Now both managers are looking to January to entice the player to England but reports in The Mail suggest he will not return to the Premier League after failing to launch his career with Manchester United: “The most important thing is that I come back to the Italian championship.”
King confident of consistency.
Spurs captain Ledley King has told The Mirror his side can have successful Champions League campaign while also competing for a top four finish in the Premier League. Spurs have already felt the effects of a midweek fixture in Europe when they defeated Young Boys in the second leg – only to play Wigan Athletic at the weekend and lose 1-0. King admits the team must get used to playing quick fire matches but is certain Europa League experience will benefit their first attempts at the Champions League.
