Arsenal news - Gunners want Lindegaard, Walcott injury latest, Wilshere makes return
Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Arsenal. Today:

Gunners want Lindegaard.
Arsenal’s rivalry with Manchester United could be about to spill over into the transfer market, as the pair are tussling for the signature of Danish goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, talkSPORT reveals. The 6’4 Aalesunds FK stopper has perhaps inevitably been labelled “the new Peter Schmeichel.” He is currently serving as deputy to Denmark No.1 Thomas Sorensen, and it is thought Arsene Wenger sees him as a good long-term signing after being frustrated in his efforts to sign a new keeper in the transfer window, ultimately missing out on top target Mark Schwarzer.
Walcott injury latest.
Theo Walcott’s ankle injury could be worse than initially thought, and the pacey forward could be out of action for up to six weeks, according to The Independent. The 21-year-old was stretchered off while representing England during their 3-1 win in Switzerland on Tuesday night. Three Lions boss Fabio Capello had initially cited Walcott in saying it would be “less than two weeks”, but unfortunately for the Gunners the scans have revealed the injury is worse than originally thought. Arsene Wenger is cited in The Independent as saying: “The tackle looked quite bad. When you see how it turned his ankle I thought it would be three or four days or it would be four to six weeks. Unfortunately, it will be four to six weeks. We had some good news about the scan because at some stage we were scared it could be worse. But overall it is a question of patience and rehabilitation.”
Wilshere makes return.
Bolton Wanderers travel to the Emirates this weekend, and manager Owen Coyle is praying one of his former charges does not play very well. The Glaswegian gaffer took Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere to the Trotters on loan last season, and claims that everyone at the club remains close to the 18-year-old, according to Mirror Football. Wilshere, who made his England debut last month, has been ever-present in the starting eleven thus far this campaign and will hope to show his former club just how far he has come since the early days, where Coyle describes him as “a bit immature.” According to Skysports.com, Coyle said of Wilshere: “He came to us as a boy and went back to Arsenal as a man... but hopefully he doesn’t play too well against us.”
