Falcao aware of Spurs interest, Harry wants Levy to spend, Crouch backs stars to stay

By Luke Ricketts

Harry wants Levy to spend.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has told his chairman Daniel Levy that he must be willing to buy three quality players this summer if Spurs are to challenge the top four next season.

Tottenham could only manage fifth last term and were six points off rivals Arsenal who snatched the fourth and final Champions league place. Redknapp has been on the lookout for players according to The Telegraph and has specified he is looking for an ‘experienced leader’ and a ‘free scoring striker.’ Brad Friedel remains the only signing so far while Scott Parker, Leandro Damiao and Moussa Dembele have all been speculated.

Crouch backs stars to stay.

Spurs front man Peter Crouch has echoed Harry Redknapp’s message by saying it would take ‘crazy money’ to prise Gareth Bale and Luka Modric from Tottenham. It is no secret Manchester United are after Spurs’ midfield maestro, while Inter Milan and AC Milan have made their interest known in 21-year-old Gareth Bale after his destructive performances against the two sides respectively in the Champions League. United are believed to be lining up a £20 million bid for the Croatian, but Modric’s agent Mario Mamic has also reiterated to Metro that his client will not be leaving North London this summer unless substantially more is offered.

Falcao aware of Spurs interest.

Spurs target Radamel Falcao has said he would like to play in England despite holding talks about a new contract with Porto.

The 25-year-old has been given the opportunity to prolong his stay with the Portuguese club but has confirmed he is open to a move elsewhere. The Colombian striker is well aware of the clubs that are interested and has said he is ready to experience another country in one of Europe’s toughest leagues. "It would be difficult to leave Porto this summer,” he told talkSPORT, “but I know I have been linked with Real Madrid and big English clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham.” Porto are keen to keep hold of Falcao who scored 16 goals from 22 games last season and will attempt to ward off potential buyers with a £25 million buyout clause as part of his new contract.
