Man City news - Tevez denies fix allegations, £7m Boateng offer, Sanchez snubs City

By Luke Ricketts

Monday 27 June 2011

Sanchez snubs City.

Sought after winger Alexis Sanchez has snubbed Manchester City by revealing a move to Barcelona would be a dream come true. Roberto Mancini has made a last gasp attempt to tempt his prime target into a move to Eastlands with a £35.8 million bid but Sanchez has already made it quite clear where his allegiance lies for next season. Udinese are understood to be bowled over with City’s offer according to El Mundo Deportivo and are eager to do business with the English club despite Sanchez’s alternate agenda. A deal with the Catalonian club was close to a conclusion before City’s late intrusion, throwing the player’s destination for next season once again into disarray. Barca’s smaller bid of £33.9 million is believed to include Jeffren but Udinese’s owners have made it clear they would like to do business with The Blues.

Tevez denies fix allegations.

Carlos Tevez has denied allegations of match fixing during Manchester City’s Europa League match against Aris Salonika, Mirror Football claims. The Blues’ captain has been accused of allowing his opposition to have the first kick off after he was informed some of their players had wagered up to £6,000 on them having it. A spokesman for the City captain has said it was completely “impossible” and said: “Carlos has never heard such a thing and no one ever approached him." The claims are further flawed by the fact that Aris won the coin toss and chose which end they wanted, giving City the first kick off in the fixture.

£7m Boateng offer.

Talksport report that Manchester City has received a £7 million offer from Bayern Munich for out-of-favour full back Jerome Boateng just a year after moving to Eastlands from Hamburg. Despite an injury thwarted season that has allowed him to make only 16 appearances, City are still confident they can get £17 million for the German defender. Boateng is eager to return to the Bundesliga and has already agreed terms with Munich regardless of their offer falling short of his hefty price tag. Bolton’s Gary Cahill has been linked with a move to Manchester this summer but the transfer looks unlikely if they cannot sell Boateng at the price they want for him.

I don't remember a single 'Sanchez snubs United' headline although they have submitted a bid for the player haven't they? When will we hear Sanchez doesn't want to join United? The answer is we wont due to the favourable bias the media has towards them. On the contrary, City are fair game for any criticism based on nothing more substantial than biased media sources and Man U sympathising journalistic witterings. Keep up the crap work, it will make it all the sweeter when we achieve great things in the near future.

1. Sanchez has not snubbed City, it is widely known that he would (who wouldn't) like to join Barca. He has not said that he doesn't want to come to City. It is a press thing. If he does want to come to City, they can start to write stories such as, "Sanchez unhappy at City" etc etc. 2. There are no match fixing allegations, it is a bet fixing allegation. But again, Tevez name has only been mentioned, from "a source" that is not conected to City. Again, this is something that the press want to big up so that they can come up with stories such as Sanchez does not want to join City because of Match Fix "Story" or Tevez wants to leave City to get away from the press allegations etc etc. Paper have to sell so the editors put anything in them to make readers pay attention and say such things as "ooh I always thought Tevez was a greedy man" etc etc. 3. There is no way Milner, Boateng or any player who was bought last year, or is a main part of the squad will leave for a low transfer. Of course this may be different in the cases of Manu/Bellamy or Santa Cruz but this story is a no go and will not happen. Maybe if it does it will be a player plus cash etc, but in my own personal opinion Boateng will stay. My rant is over.
