Arsenal news - RvP exit talk, Galatasaray £13.5m Arshavin bid, Real Madrid enter Fab race

RvP exit talk.

The Sun reports that Robin Van Persie could be the next Arsenal player to quit the club in the wake of rumoured transfers for Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri or Gael Clichy.

Van Persie is unhappy with the mass exodus of stars away from the Emirates and will quit the club if Fabregas cannot be replaced with another top star. The Dutch striker will be made captain at Arsenal, should Fabregas leave, and is still deeply worried about the future prospects at Arsenal.

The 27 year old is one of the senior players at the Emirates, but has only won one winners medal at Arsenal in the form of the 2005 FA Cup and has told friends in Holland that he has growing concerns over the Gunners’ ability to win silverware in the next few years.

Galatasaray £13.5m Arshavin bid.

Galatasaray are preparing to offer Arsenal £13.5m for Russian forward Andrey Arshavin, The Metro reports.

Arshavin’s contract runs out at the Emirates next year and the Gunners are unprepared to lose a player that they paid £15m for on a free transfer. The 30 year old has underperformed for the Gunners in his time in North London and with the impending £11m transfer of Gervinho, Arshavin’s days at the Emirates are numbered.

The Turkish side could face competition from Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg, who were Arshavin’s old side, but the money on the table for both Arsenal and Arshavin could result in the Russian forward moving to Turkey. Arshavin scored six goals in 25 Premier League starts last season.

Real Madrid enter Fab race.

Real Madrid have entered the race, along with their Spanish rivals Barcelona, to buy Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, according to The Sun.

Fabregas has been linked with a move to his former side Barcelona and the 24 year old will leave for the Nou Camp, if the two sides can agree a fee. There are complications over the value of Fabregas with Barcelona unprepared to pay over the odds for the midfielder.

It is understood that Real Madrid are prepared to offer £45m for the Spanish international and could hijack the move that Barcelona had been planning to offer. Fabregas was a product of the famed Barcelona academy, but the 24 year old is a favourite of the Madrid board.

Arsenal are set to talk with Fabregas over any move that the Spanish midfielder wants away from the Emirates Stadium and manager Arsene Wenger is hoping to keep his star man.
