Man City news - Lennon in Ade swap link, City ready Nasri, Silva: No hard feelings for Tevez

By Luke Ricketts

Wednesday 03 August 2011

Lennon in Ade swap link.

Harry Redknapp has told the Daily Mirror he is willing to allow winger Aaron Lennon to leave for Man City in return for Emmanuel Adebayor. Although an unfavoured front man at the Etihad stadium last season, the 27-year-old still demands a weekly wage of £170,000 – a sum Spurs cannot afford. Roberto Mancini has said he is unwilling to prolong the transfer of the striker any longer than is necessary and would give the move a green light if he can have Lennon in return. Adebayor had been linked to Real Madrid earlier in the summer but an offer is looking increasingly unlikely with other targets in the pipeline.

City ready Nasri.

According to reports made by the Manchester Evening Standard, Man City are readying a £20 million bid for Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri. Manager Roberto Mancini said only last week he was still in the market for two more players even though he has already added Sergio Aguero, Gael Clichy and Stefan Savic to his already star-studded squad. Nasri was arguably Arsenal’s best player last season and his performances have warranted the attention of both Manchester clubs. Although the Frenchman has been earmarked by City, he is not considered to be a prime target of Mancini. Valencia’s Juan Mata is also on the shortlist but is wanted by the Gunners and Tottenham as well.

Silva: No hard feelings for Tevez.

David Silva has told the Guardian he has no hard feelings for Carlos Tevez who is expected to return to training with Manchester City on Thursday. Tevez admitted at the end of last season he was no longer happy at City because of the distance from his family in Argentina. The striker came close to signing for Corinthians, the club he left for a move to England, but could not reach an agreement before the closing of the Brazilian transfer window earlier in the summer. The 27-year-old is expected at City’s Carrington training ground tomorrow, following his return from international duty in the in the Copa America, where teammate Silva will be on hand to give him a warm welcome: “Carlos has to return and that's great. He's a very important player for us. I don't think there will be a problem.”
