Arsenal news - £12m Samba price-tag, Gunners draw Udinese, £35m Fab bid rejected
£12m Samba price-tag.
Blackburn Rovers have placed a £12 million price on the head of wanted defender Chris Samba in a bid to prevent him from leaving, the Mail understands. Both Arsenal and closest adversaries Tottenham are understood to be interested in the player but the Lancashire club want twice the amount Spurs are prepared to offer. Blackburn have their minds set on keeping Samba at Ewood Park and hope their fixed asking price will put off admirers from underbidding. The loss of Samba would be a huge blow to Blackburn’s Premier League campaign after the exit of Phil Jones to Manchester United earlier in the summer.

Gunners draw Udinese.
Arsenal will have to beat Serie A club Udinese if they are to progress into the group stages of the Champions League this season. The first leg will be played at the Emirates stadium on the 16 August, with the return leg a week later at the Stadio Friuli. The Gunners will join Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City if they can defeat the Italian outfit and will make it their 14th consecutive appearance in Europe’s most prestigious tournament. The home fixture falls between Arsenal’s first and second matches of the new season, against Newcastle and Liverpool respectively.
£35m Fab bid rejected.
Arsenal have rejected Barcelona’s latest offer of £35 million for Cesc Fabregas declaring they will only allow the player to leave for £40 million. Barca have had numerous bids for the Spanish midfielder rejected by the Gunners who are proving inflexible with their asking price. Fabregas has publically expressed his desire to leave Arsenal for his former club this summer but has so far been denied this ambition by the North London club who are adamant to keep hold of their captain and playmaker. According to the Mail, Fabregas is growing anxious a deal will not be reached before the transfer window closes and will be forced to remain at the Emirates until January when it reopens again.
