Talksport are this morning reporting that Spurs have been tracking the progress of Standard Liege defender Eliaquim Mangala, but will have to act quick to secure his signature, as he also the subject of interest from Everton. However it has emerged that Porto have made a £5 million bid for the 20-year-old, that will test the resolve of the Liege board, who were quoted as wanting £6 million for French under-21 international. Llorente £31m price-tag.

Harry Redknapp’s ongoing search for a striker has taken yet another knock back, after Athletico Bilbao have slammed a £31 million price tag on their popular striker Fernando Llorente, reports Setanta Sports. Having missed out on the likes of Rossi, Vucinic, and Zarate already, Redknapp continues to be frustrated as he looks to bring more quality to the Spurs firing line.  Llorente scored 19 goals last season for the Basque club, and the Bilbao will be doing all they possibly can to keep their key player at the club.

Everton tie postponed.

Tottenham's scheduled opening Premier League fixture with Everton has been postponed due to the rioting that has occurred in London, in particular in Tottenham, over the last few days. According to ESPN.com, Tottenham said the decision was taken because of "safety concerns relating to the infrastructure of the High Road and access to the stadium caused by last Saturday's riots." This news will come as a disappointment to most supporters, but safety is the main concern at the moment amid the confusion. Spurs' Michael Dawson and Everton's Tim Cahill have both already backed the postponement.
