Granada - Real Betis: Granada aim to start their season well despite key injury

Los Carmenes, Granada

Granada manager Fabri Gonzalez has brought in a number of players to strengthen his squad, but their lack of strikers could see them struggle to score against a strengthened Real Betis defence.

Summer signings Yohan Mollo, Fran Rico and the experienced Hassan Yebda should all feature in Granada’s first Primera Division game in 35 years. Main striker Alex Geijo is still sidelined due to an injury he picked up late last season and may be out until September.

Meanwhile, Betis’ strike partnership of Ruben Castro and Jorge Molina produced an impressive 45 goals last season in the Segunda and will pose a familiar threat to the Granada defence. New loan signing Ustaritz should debut in the centre of the Betis defence.

Granada (4-4-1-1): Roberto; Cortes, Mainz, Pamarot, Siqueira; Mollo, Yebda, Abel, Benitez; Rico; Ighalo

Real Betis (4-4-2): Goitia; Nacho, Amaya, Ustaritz, Dorado; Juanma, Iriney, Ezequiel, Montero; Castro, Molina

League form: Granada last five home W-W-D-W-D
Real Betis last five away W-W-D-L-D

Did you know…Eight goals were scored in the two games in which these two sides met in the Segunda Division last season. (via @soccerway)
