Mancini reveals Cerci interest.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is still keen on bringing Fiorentina winger Alessio Cerci to the Etihad Stadium, reports the Corriere dello Sport

The manager wants to add more strength in depth to his attacking options and sees the former Roma man as a quality potential addition to his already impressive squad. “He is one of the few players who are able to win a game on their own. If I could have I would have brought him to the Premier League a year ago” said the Italian boss.

UEFA plans transfer sanctions.

UEFA have began to look at a range of punishments they can use against free-spending clubs who don't comply with the new 'spend what you earn' rules, such as Manchester City and Chelsea, according to The Times

It seemed City had managed to dodge punishment when they announced a 10-year sponsorship deal and stadium naming rights deal with Etihad, but that deal has been criticized by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger among others. Included in these new punishments are transfer sanctions, which are expected to come into play by 2014.

Duo set to play.

Both Samir Nasri and Micah Richards are expected to feature in Manchester City's Premier League fixture against Wigan on Saturday, despite both picking up injuries whilst on international duty reports clubcall.com.

Nasri broke his finger in France's goalless draw with Romania, whilst Richards picked up a hamstring problem during England's preparations for their qualifier versus Wales, but both have been deemed fit to play by the Manchester City medical team. Dutchman Nigel De Jong is still out injured, whilst Carlos Tevez is expected to make his first Premier League start of the season.
