Stoke vs QPR - Preview and betting tip

By Bryan Waters

Saturday 19 November 2011

Stoke City play host to newly promoted Queens Park Rangers this weekend with a winner potentially moving into the top half of the table should results go their way.

The Potters sit one place below QPR in the league table and seem to have struggled with the congestion of playing in the Premier League and the Europa League. Tony Pulis' side were resoundingly beaten by Bolton 5-0, which avenged the 5-0 defeat Stoke gave the Trotters in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last season.

QPR are performing way above expectation and can count a victory over Chelsea as a scalp on their record. Neil Warnock's men were beaten 3-2 by league leaders Manchester City before the international break, but their performance was good enough for their manager. Midfielder Adel Taarabt has yet to show the quality that made him Championship Player of the Year, but is still expected to start at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke's homefield advantage will give them confidence and motivation ahead of the game and they should be able to pick up a victory over the West Londoners.

Smart money: Stoke 1-0 QPR - £10 bet wins £80
