Adebayor praises Redknapp after early season Spurs success

By Tim Doel

Wednesday 23 November 2011

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has told of his enjoyment as being part of the Spurs side that currently sit in 3rd place in the Premier League.

The Togo international netted both goals at the weekend in Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at White Hart Lane, taking his tally to five since his loan move from Manchester City, and Adebayor singled out Spurs manager Harry Redknapp as a major reason behind this season’s success:

” For me it's always special to have a manager like him, he has given me confidence, has given me my life back”, Adebayor told Premierleague.com. ” He tells me before every game: 'Adebayor - go out there, you know what you can do, just enjoy your football. If you can score goals, score goals, make assists, keep doing your thing,' and that's it.

“I don't have any pressure on my head telling myself I have to score to keep my place now. I just have to do the job and I think at the moment I am doing it very well."

Adebayor’s next challenge will come at the weekend away to West Brom.
