Redknapp blocks Kranjcar move to QPR

By Bryan Waters

Sunday 22 January 2012

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that he has blocked any move for midfielder Niko Kranjcar to QPR and wants to keep the Croatian at the club, The Sun reports. Redknapp has also insisted that he will refuse to listen to any offers from any club interested in Kranjcar.

The midfielder has not featured as regularly as he would have hoped in the last two seasons for Spurs and could be interested in a move away for regular first team football. Redknapp brought the Croatian to Portsmouth with him and then when Redknapp moved to Spurs, Kranjcar followed his manager. The two have a great relationship despite Kranjcar's lack of football and the Tottenham boss is eager to hold on to Kranjcar.

Redknapp said: They (QPR) have no chance. I wouldn't sell Niko to anyone. He is far too important a player for me. In the long term, who knows? If he doesn't play next year and wants to go, I maybe wouldn't stand in his way as I like him so much. But we don't want to let people go who can help us.'

Kranjcar has suffered from injuries, but has regained full fitness and is ready to push his way into the first team. The Croatian has made only ten appearances this season, but is still in Redknapp's first-team plans and should be part of the squad for the trip to Manchester City today.
