Pienaar priced-out of QPR move
Tottenham midfielder Stephen Pienaar is becoming frustrated by the club’s attempts to block a move to QPR.
The South African international, 29, signed for Spurs for £3 million on a four year contract in January 2011. However, injuries have hit his bid to establish a first team place, and he has made just 15 appearances for the North London side since his transfer. QPR are looking to offer him an escape route, but a Sky Sports source said that “Spurs are pricing him out of a move, as they really don’t want to let him go.”
It is thought that Tottenham want at least £6 million for Pienaar, with manager Harry Redknapp keen to hold onto him as “a good squad player.” He also said of Pienaar, “I wouldn’t want to let him go. He is a good player - I don’t need to weaken the squad.”
