Redknapp happy as Saha completes Spurs switch

By Andy Brunning

Wednesday 01 February 2012

Louis Saha has joined Tottenham on a free transfer for the remainder of the season, after Everton cancelled his contract, reports BBC Sport.

Saha, 33, joined Everton in 2008, after a four year spell with Manchester United, much of which was beset by injury. His time at Everton has also involved several spells on the sidelines, and he has not scored a goal in his last 942 minutes of Premier League football. Redknapp, however, is confident of being able to resurrect the Frenchman’s ability in the twilight of his career.

“He’s got good movement, can score goals, but probably needs a change. He’s out of contract at the end of the year so David Moyes has let him go. I can remember speaking to Rio Ferdinand and he said he was the best forward he’d played against.”

The deal for Saha runs until the end of the season, but includes the option of a year’s extension if he impresses.
