Brad Friedel

Luke Young - Christopher Samba - Steve Gohouri - Ashley Cole

Theo Walcott - Yaya Toure - Dickson Etuhu - Nani

Hugo Rodallega - Luke Varney

Goalkeeper - Brad Friedel (Aston Villa): The 39-year-old American goalkeeper produced a string of impressive saves in the second-half to shut out Everton and help Villa capture the three points. Defenders - Luke Young (Aston Villa): Young could be pushing for a regular place in the starting line up as he broke forward from right-back to coolly slot home past Tim Howard. He was equally impressive in the defensive department, coping well with threat of Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar down the left hand side. Christopher Samba - (Blackburn Rovers): The towering centre-half was involved at both ends of the pitch throughout a tight encounter against Arsenal. He produced crucial interceptions on more than one occasion to keep Blackburn in the game, while proving a serious threat from set-pieces and in the dying minutes when he was pushed forward in search of an equaliser. Steve Gohouri - (Wigan Atheltic): The Ivory Coast international was in a determined mood, his no nonsense defensive style helping to shut out free scoring Tottenham Hotspur and secure an unexpected victory for Wigan at White Hart Lane. Ashley Cole - (Chelsea): Yet another energetic display from the England left-back, getting involved in attack after attack from start to finish and almost finding the score sheet himself when his spectacular volley cannoned off the crossbar. Midfielders - Theo Walcott (Arsenal): He may not have matched his hat-trick scoring exploits of last weekend, but he once again opened the scoring for Arsenal with an instinctive finish from a tight angle and proved to be a useful outlet for the Gunners as Blackburn piled on the pressure late on. Yaya Toure - (Manchester City): The only positive to come out of Manchester City’s narrow defeat at Sunderland was the eye catching performance of Yaya Toure. The summer signing from Barcelona looks to be finding his feet quickly in the Premier League - his impressive array of passing created chance after chance for his side. Dickson Etuhu - (Fulham): The Nigerian midfielder has expressed his desire to improve his goals tally this season and he capped an inspirational box to box display with a late equaliser to earn Fulham a point at Blackpool. Nani - (Manchester United): The talented Portuguese winger is beginning to fulfil his potential this season, scoring a stunning goal from long range before neatly setting up Dimitar Berbatov to seal the victory. Strikers - Hugo Rodallega - (Wigan Athletic): The 25-year-old front man worked tirelessly, holding the ball up well to allow his teammates to join in attacks from deep before scoring a well deserved winner for his side. Luke Varney - (Blackpool): Many football fans raised their eyebrows when Blackpool announced the signing of Luke Varney on loan from Championship side Derby County. It could be a shrewd move judging by his performance on Saturday, firing Blackpool into a 2-1 lead on 76 minutes having already troubled David Stockdale in the Fulham goal on numerous occasions.
