Chelsea news - Drogba commits to Ivory Coast, Lampard set to be fit for the weekend, Drog happy to be second choice for pens
Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Chelsea. Today:

Drogba commits to Ivory Coast.
According to goal.com, Didier Drogba has rejected claims that he has retired from international duty. The Chelsea striker went to watch the African Cup of Nations qualifier between Ivory Coast and Rwanda and he spoke to the Press to explain the reason for his visit. He told Telefoot: I came here to give my support to the team and silence a lot of rumours. I’ve always been part of this team and we’ve done some great things together. I wanted to let everyone know my heart is still here and I throw my full support behind the team. Every time I’m called up I’ll be here to play my role.”
Lampard set to be fit for the weekend.
The Daily Star on Sunday reports that Frank Lampard will be fit to face West Ham on Saturday. The midfielder missed the England qualifiers to have a hernia operation but he has recovered and will be ready for the trip to his former club. Carlo Ancelotti revealed: “For sure, Frank will be fit for the West Ham game.” The boss also denied rumours that the operation had been planned for the international break: “No, we didn’t decide at the start of the season to do this now. After the Stoke game, Frank was in a lot of pain. So he decided, after talking to the club doctor, to resolve and remove the problem immediately.”
Drog happy to be second choice for pens.
Didier Drogba has admitted that he is happy to be second choice penalty taker at Chelsea. According to the Daily Star on Sunday, Carlo Ancelotti will keep Frank Lampard as first choice, despite him missing his last three spot-kicks, including one for England. The Ivorian revealed: “I like taking penalties because it’s a big responsibility. But it’s clear Lamps is the first one to take penalties for us and only if he is not on the pitch do I take them. I took the one against Stoke because he wasn’t on the pitch. Frank has scored so many penalties for Chelsea. That’s why he will take the next one too.”
