Arsenal news - Gunners in for Powell, Wenger makes Mou dig, 1000 up for Arsenal
Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Arsenal. Today:

1000 up for Arsenal.
Arsenal reached a milestone in the 4-1 win over Bolton yesterday, reports BBC Sport. Alex Song’s delicate finish, which put the Gunners 3-1 up during the course of their 4-1 win, was the 1,000th goal of Arsene Wenger’s managerial reign. New signing Laurent Koscielny also opened his account for the Gunners in a match that, as the Daily Express describes, could have ended up a 10 goal match. The win keeps Arsenal in second place, 2 points behind early pace setters Chelsea.
Wenger makes Mou dig.
Arsene Wenger has reignited his long standing feud with Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho ahead of the start of the new season’s Champions League. Goal.com reports that Wenger has blasted Mourinho and branding the Special One’s European triumph last year while at Inter Milan “lucky” thanks to some unfair refereeing decisions. He told the Daily Mail: “Look at the teams who got to last year's final. With normal refereeing neither of them would have been there. No Bayern, and no Inter.”
Gunners in for Powell.
The News of the World is reporting today that Arsenal are determined to sign highly rated Crewe youngster Nick Powell. The 16-year-old recently signed a new three-year contract at the Alexandra stadium, and veteran manager Dario Gradi has already turned down an offer of around £1m from the Gunners. Arsene Wenger has an excellent reputation for developing young players, however, and is believed to be preparing a bid too good for Crewe to turn down in the January transfer window. To date, the forward has made just two appearances for Crewe’s senior team, though he does have 10 caps for England at U-16 and U-17 levels.
