Man City youngster in Barcelona link
According to Mirror Football, Barcelona are keen on taking highly-rated Manchester City teenager Ashley Smith-Brown to the Camp Nou.
The 16-year-old academy prospect, who plays as a wing-back and is equally at home on either flank, was spotted by the Catalan club’s scouts during an England Under-16 game against Spain in February and La Blaugrana are eager to add him to their world-renowned La Masia academy.
Smith-Brown first came to City’s attention whilst representing England in the Victory Shield competition and also featured for the Under-17’s at last year’s Nordic Tournament in Iceland, after which he was called up to the Under-16 side by boss Kenny Swain to face Northern Ireland.
It is believed both Arsenal and Chelsea are also monitoring the youngster’s progress, having recently ran the rule over him at the prestigious Montaigu Tournament in France, where England were beaten on penalties in the semi-finals by Russia.
