Bayern ready with €10m Sahin offer

Friday 11 May 2012

Bayern Munich are ready to offer €10m for Real Madrid misfit Nuri Sahin, according to Mercafutbol.

The Turkish international midfielder has seen his career at the Santiago Bernabeu go rapidly downhill since his €10m signing from Borussia Dortmund in May, 2011, having damaged medial ligaments in his left knee shortly afterwards during pre-season training.

After recovery he suffered a further setback with the same injury and had to wait until November 6 to make his debut for Los Blancos against Osasuna. However, boss Jose Mourinho has lost confidence in the 23-year-old and has used him just 10 times in league and cup games this season, the majority of them as a substitute. Yet despite his limited appearances Mourinho is believed to still want the player to remain with the club.

Nonetheless, Sahin could be thrown an unexpected lifeline in the Bundesliga, although not from his former club, with Bayern set to step in with their offer. It is one Madrid might well find hard to turn down as they get a chance to recoup the money they paid for the player 12 months ago.
