Spartak Moscow target Villarreal’s Valero

By Nick Wright

Thursday 14 June 2012

Villarreal’s Borja Valero is being lined up for a €12m bid from Unai Emery’s Spartak Moscow, claim AS.

Valero, 27, is one of the top earners at relegated Villarreal, and the central midfielder is likely to be sold as El Submarino Amarillo prepare for life in Segunda.

Former Valencia manager Emery took over at Spartak last month and is a known admirer of Valero, who has been capped once for Spain. He has reportedly asked Sporting Director Valery Karpin to make a push for the former Mallorca and West Brom playmaker.

Villarreal will be hoping to draw as bigger bid as possible from the wealthy Russian side, but it remains to be seen whether Valero will be willing to make the move to Russia.
